Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, cauliflower and broccoli exports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Overall, exports continue to indicate a drastic downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 236% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

India (X kg) was the main destination for cauliflower and broccoli exports from Nepal, accounting for a 98% share of total exports. It was followed by the United Arab Emirates (X kg), with a 1.2% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume to India totaled -3.3%.

In value terms, India ($X) remains the key foreign market for cauliflower and broccoli exports from Nepal, comprising 75% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by the United Arab Emirates ($X), with a 7.6% share of total exports.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to India totaled $X per ton.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 273%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2017 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, cauliflower and broccoli imports reduced to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, showed a buoyant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 266% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
