Room Deodorants Market Size in Nepal

In 2022, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in the Nepalese room deodorants market, when its value decreased by -10% to $X. Overall, the total consumption indicated perceptible growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, consumption increased by +128.5% against 2019 indices. As a result, consumption reached the peak level of $X, and then contracted in the following year.

Room deodorants exports from Nepal soared to X tons in 2022, with an increase of 35% against the year before. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when exports increased by 148% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X tons. From 2020 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, room deodorants exports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Overall, exports showed a strong increase. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Exports by Country

China (X tons) was the main destination for room deodorants exports from Nepal, with a 40% share of total exports. Moreover, room deodorants exports to China exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, the United States (X tons), threefold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Spain (X tons), with a 4.5% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume to China was relatively modest. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the United States (+4.1% per year) and Spain (+15.6% per year).

In value terms, the largest markets for room deodorants exported from Nepal were the United States ($X), China ($X) and Germany ($X), with a combined 36% share of total exports. France, Spain, the UK, Chile, the Netherlands, Canada and Australia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 20%.

In terms of the main countries of destination, Chile, with a CAGR of +29.1%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

The average room deodorants export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, jumping by 43% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price showed a strong increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when the average export price increased by 79% against the previous year. The export price peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to China ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+11.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in supplies from abroad of preparations for perfuming or deodorising rooms, when their volume decreased by -15.6% to X tons. In general, imports recorded a noticeable contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 66%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, room deodorants imports reduced slightly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a prominent expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.0% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +66.1% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 69%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X, and then fell in the following year.

Imports by Country

In 2022, India (X tons) was the main supplier of room deodorants to Nepal, accounting for a 94% share of total imports. It was followed by China (X tons), with a 2.7% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from India stood at -3.2%.

In value terms, India ($X) constituted the largest supplier of preparations for perfuming or deodorising rooms to Nepal, comprising 96% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by China ($X), with a 2% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from India totaled +6.1%.

Import Prices by Country

In 2022, the average room deodorants import price amounted to $X per ton, surging by 16% against the previous year. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a strong expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when the average import price increased by 37%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $X per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was India ($X per ton), while the price for China totaled $X per ton.
