Other Cereals Market Size in the Netherlands

For the third consecutive year, the Dutch other cereals market recorded growth in sales value, which increased by 28% to $X in 2021. Overall, consumption saw a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, consumption attained the peak level of $X. From 2018 to 2021, the growth of the market remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Other Cereals Production in the Netherlands

In value terms, other cereals production skyrocketed to $X in 2021 estimated in export price. Over the period under review, production, however, saw a perceptible decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 with an increase of 185%. Other cereals production peaked at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, production stood at a somewhat lower figure.

The average yield of other cerealses in the Netherlands expanded rapidly to X tons per ha in 2021, growing by 13% compared with 2020. Overall, the yield, however, saw a drastic downturn. Other cereals exports from the Netherlands declined to X tons in 2021, which is down by -8.1% against 2020 figures. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when exports increased by 215% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2020, and then dropped in the following year.

In value terms, other cereals exports declined markedly to $X in 2021. In general, exports, however, posted prominent growth. The third position in this ranking was taken by France (X tons), with a 10% share.

For the third consecutive year, the Netherlands recorded growth in overseas purchases of other cerealses, which increased by 24% to X tons in 2021. Over the period under review, imports enjoyed a slight expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 251% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2018 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, other cereals imports surged to $X in 2021. In general, imports continue to indicate a modest expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 262% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2018 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2021, Germany (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of other cereals to the Netherlands, with a 74% share of total imports. Moreover, other cereals imports from Germany exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Poland (X tons), sevenfold. The third position in this ranking was held by France (X tons), with a 5.2% share.
