In value terms, computing machinery exports expanded remarkably to $X in 2021. In general, exports enjoyed notable growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 107%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

Germany (X tons), Italy (X tons) and the UK (X tons) were the main destinations of computing machinery exports from the Netherlands, together accounting for 26% of total exports. France, Belgium, Portugal, Sweden, the Czech Republic, Spain, Poland, Denmark, the United States and Russia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 19%.

Denmark, with a CAGR of +8.7%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average computing machinery export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, picking up by 12% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.2%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when the average export price increased by 22%. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was France ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Portugal ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to France (+11.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into the Netherlands
In 2021, supplies from abroad of computing machinery and parts and accessories thereof increased by 4.7% to X tons, rising for the fourth year in a row after three years of decline. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a notable increase from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.2% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +70.3% against 2017 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when imports increased by 50%. Imports peaked in 2021 and are likely to continue growth in the near future.
In value terms, computing machinery imports soared to $X in 2021. Overall, imports continue to indicate perceptible growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 88% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2021 and are likely to continue growth in the near future.
Imports by Country
In 2021, China (X tons) constituted the largest computing machinery supplier to the Netherlands, accounting for a 29% share of total imports. Moreover, computing machinery imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Thailand (X tons), sixfold. Japan (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 4% share.

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 an increase of 25% against the previous year. The import price peaked in 2021 and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Taiwan (Chinese) ($X per ton), while the price for Indonesia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
