The UK (X tons), Germany (X tons) and France (X tons) were the main destinations of expanded clays exports from the Netherlands, together accounting for 46% of total exports. These countries were followed by Belgium, Spain, Japan, Russia, the United States, Denmark, Poland, Lithuania, Italy and Australia, which together accounted for a further 34%.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Lithuania (with a CAGR of +255.2%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, Germany (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of expanded clays to the Netherlands, with a 64% share of total imports. Moreover, expanded clays imports from Germany exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Belgium (X tons), more than tenfold. Austria (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 4.1% share.
