Germany (X tons) was the main destination for filter block exports from the Netherlands, accounting for a 49% share of total exports. Moreover, filter block exports to Germany exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Norway (X tons), threefold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Spain (X kg), with a 3.5% share.

In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a sharp reduction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when imports increased by 43% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, filter block imports shrank significantly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a abrupt descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 59%. Imports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2022, the UK (X tons) constituted the largest filter block supplier to the Netherlands, with a 69% share of total imports.
