The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 125% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Exports by Country
France (X tons), Germany (X tons) and Belgium (X tons) were the main destinations of acyclic hydrocarbons derivatives exports from the Netherlands, with a combined 57% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Italy, Spain, the UK, the Czech Republic, Poland, the United States and Turkey, which together accounted for a further 35%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for the Czech Republic (with a CAGR of +23.5%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest markets for acyclic hydrocarbons derivatives exported from the Netherlands were Germany ($X), France ($X) and Italy ($X), together accounting for 52% of total exports. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when the average export price increased by 69% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $X per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Turkey ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to the United States ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Turkey (+19.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into the Netherlands
In 2021, supplies from abroad of fluorinated, brominated or iodinated derivatives of acyclic hydrocarbons increased by 32% to X tons, rising for the second consecutive year after two years of decline. Overall, total imports indicated a moderate increase from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.2% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +41.9% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when imports increased by 36% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, acyclic hydrocarbons derivatives imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. In general, imports saw a resilient expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when imports increased by 71% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2021 and are likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
China (X tons), the United States (X tons) and the UK (X tons) were the main suppliers of acyclic hydrocarbons derivatives imports to the Netherlands, with a combined 89% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by the UK (with a CAGR of +12.0%), while imports for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.
In value terms, the United States ($X) constituted the largest supplier of fluorinated, brominated or iodinated derivatives of acyclic hydrocarbons to the Netherlands, comprising 68% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by China ($X), with an 18% share of total imports. It was followed by the UK, with a 6.1% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value from the United States amounted to +13.7%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: China (+8.3% per year) and the UK (+16.2% per year).

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was the United States ($X per ton), while the price for China ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
