Germany (X tons), France (X tons) and Italy (X tons) were the main destinations of ghee exports from the Netherlands, with a combined 51% share of total exports. Belgium, Ireland, Poland, Sweden, the UK, Spain and Saudi Arabia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 33%.

In 2022, the average ghee export price amounted to $X per ton, picking up by 34% against the previous year. In general, export price indicated a resilient increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, ghee export price increased by +56.2% against 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 46% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the highest price was recorded for prices to Sweden ($X per ton) and the UK ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Belgium ($X per ton) and Saudi Arabia ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.

Imports into the Netherlands
In 2022, ghee imports into the Netherlands reduced to X tons, declining by -9.9% compared with 2021 figures. In general, imports saw a pronounced decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 147%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, ghee imports surged to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, showed a notable increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by 128%. Imports peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
New Zealand (X tons), France (X tons) and Germany (X tons) were the main suppliers of ghee imports to the Netherlands, with a combined 63% share of total imports. Ireland, Belgium, the UK and Poland lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 32%.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for the UK (with a CAGR of +19.0%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest ghee suppliers to the Netherlands were New Zealand ($X), France ($X) and Germany ($X), together accounting for 63% of total imports. Ireland, the UK, Belgium and Poland lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 33%.

In 2022, the average ghee import price amounted to $X per ton, picking up by 36% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price posted a prominent expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 56%. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($X per ton), while the price for Poland ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
