Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at $X in 2021, and then fell rapidly in the following year.

Germany (X tons), France (X tons) and Belgium (X tons) were the main destinations of glass closure exports from the Netherlands, with a combined 73% share of total exports. Ireland, the UK, Finland, Sweden, Italy, Denmark and Lithuania lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 22%.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Denmark (with a CAGR of +134.6%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average glass closure export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, reducing by -4.1% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a noticeable increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when the average export price increased by 143%. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Germany ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Belgium (+13.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into the Netherlands
In 2022, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in supplies from abroad of glass stoppers, lids and other closures, when their volume decreased by -5% to X tons. In general, imports, however, recorded strong growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when imports increased by 266%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2021, and then reduced in the following year.
In value terms, glass closure imports expanded notably to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, enjoyed significant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when imports increased by 447%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
Imports by Country
China (X tons), Austria (X tons) and Germany (X tons) were the main suppliers of glass closure imports to the Netherlands, together accounting for 75% of total imports. Belgium, Japan, Spain, South Africa, the Czech Republic, Italy and the UK lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 22%.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by South Africa (with a CAGR of +643,116.7%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Austria ($X) constituted the largest supplier of glass stoppers, lids and other closures to the Netherlands, comprising 50% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by China ($X), with a 17% share of total imports. It was followed by Japan, with a 7.7% share.
