Imports into the Netherlands
In 2021, the amount of imines and their derivatives and salts thereof imported into the Netherlands skyrocketed to X tons, jumping by 52% against the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, imports saw significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by 96% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
In value terms, imines imports soared to $X in 2021. In general, imports showed a resilient increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of 56%. Imports peaked in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

In 2021, China (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of imines to the Netherlands, accounting for a 53% share of total imports. Moreover, imines imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Germany (X tons), threefold. The third position in this ranking was taken by South Korea (X tons), with a 10% share.

The second position in the ranking was taken by Germany ($X), with a 15% share of total imports. It was followed by Japan, with a 12% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from China totaled +29.8%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Germany (+16.8% per year) and Japan (+5.6% per year).

In 2021, the average imines import price amounted to $X per ton, therefore, remained relatively stable against the previous year. In general, the import price recorded a noticeable shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 an increase of 10% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was Spain ($X per ton), while the price for Austria ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
