Imports into the Netherlands
In 2021, the amount of nitrates (excluding those of potassium) imported into the Netherlands soared to X tons, increasing by 48% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate buoyant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 125%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, nitrates imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, imports showed buoyant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by 464% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Russia (X tons), the UK (X tons) and Poland (X tons) were the main suppliers of nitrates imports to the Netherlands, together accounting for 72% of total imports.
