Overall, imports showed a deep reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 66%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, octyl alcohol imports fell dramatically to $X in 2022. In general, imports recorded a deep downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 168% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
Sweden (X tons), the United States (X tons) and Indonesia (X tons) were the main suppliers of octyl alcohol imports to the Netherlands, together comprising 60% of total imports. Poland, Germany, China and Belgium lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 31%.
