Oxygen Market Size in the Netherlands

Germany (X cubic meters) was the main destination for oxygen exports from the Netherlands, accounting for a 49% share of total exports. Moreover, oxygen exports to Germany exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, France (X cubic meters), twofold.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Belgium (+7.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

Imports into the Netherlands
In 2022, overseas purchases of oxygen increased by 18% to X cubic meters, rising for the second consecutive year after two years of decline. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a pronounced slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 113% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X cubic meters in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, oxygen imports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. In general, imports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 53%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Belgium (X cubic meters) was the main oxygen supplier to the Netherlands, accounting for a 96% share of total imports. It was followed by Germany (X cubic meters), with a 0.9% share of total imports.
