Boiler Parts Market Size in the Netherlands

For the third year in a row, the Dutch boiler parts market recorded growth in sales value, which increased by 14% to $X in 2021. Overall, consumption, however, continues to indicate a deep setback. Boiler parts consumption peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, consumption failed to regain momentum.

After two years of decline, shipments abroad of parts of boilers for central heating increased by 34% to X tons in 2021. Overall, total exports indicated a moderate expansion from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.0% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Germany (X tons) was the main destination for boiler parts exports from the Netherlands, accounting for a 42% share of total exports. Moreover, boiler parts exports to Germany exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Italy (X tons), fivefold. The third position in this ranking was held by the UK (X tons), with an 8.1% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume to Germany stood at +4.0%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Italy (+21.4% per year) and the UK (+8.8% per year).

Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

For the third year in a row, the Netherlands recorded growth in overseas purchases of parts of boilers for central heating, which increased by 27% to X tons in 2021. In general, imports posted a strong increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when imports increased by 57% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, boiler parts imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, total imports indicated a buoyant increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +6.4% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +20.3% against 2017 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when imports increased by 20% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

Germany (X tons), Italy (X tons) and France (X tons) were the main suppliers of boiler parts imports to the Netherlands, together accounting for 82% of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for France (with a CAGR of +32.8%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Germany ($X), Italy ($X) and France ($X) were the largest boiler parts suppliers to the Netherlands, together accounting for 78% of total imports.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was the UK ($X per ton), while the price for Denmark ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
