The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of 36% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

France (X tons), Germany (X tons) and the UK (X tons) were the main destinations of peanut butter exports from the Netherlands, with a combined 56% share of total exports. Poland, Belgium, Spain, Sweden, Italy, Norway, Serbia and Denmark lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 33%.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Denmark (with a CAGR of +30.4%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest markets for peanut butter exported from the Netherlands were France ($X), Germany ($X) and Belgium ($X), together accounting for 54% of total exports. The UK, Poland, Sweden, Spain, Italy, Norway, Denmark and Serbia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 34%.
Among the main countries of destination, Denmark, with a CAGR of +28.4%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average peanut butter export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, falling by -6.3% against the previous year. In general, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when the average export price increased by 16%. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Serbia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Poland (+0.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into the Netherlands
In 2022, overseas purchases of peanut butter and prepared or preserved groundnuts decreased by -16% to X tons, falling for the second consecutive year after four years of growth. Overall, imports, however, posted a buoyant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by 62%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, peanut butter imports shrank dramatically to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw noticeable growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 63%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $X in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
Germany (X tons), Poland (X tons) and Belgium (X tons) were the main suppliers of peanut butter imports to the Netherlands, together accounting for 61% of total imports. The UK, Spain, India, Argentina, France, China, Greece and Latvia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 32%.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Latvia (with a CAGR of +139.6%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Germany ($X), Poland ($X) and the UK ($X) constituted the largest peanut butter suppliers to the Netherlands, together comprising 54% of total imports. Belgium, Spain, India, France, China, Latvia, Argentina and Greece lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 36%.
In terms of the main suppliers, Latvia, with a CAGR of +150.0%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
