Belgium (X units), Belarus (X units) and Germany (X units) were the main destinations of photographic flashbulb exports from the Netherlands, with a combined 44% share of total exports. Malaysia, France, Poland, Slovakia, Sweden, Italy, Hong Kong SAR, Portugal, the UK and Denmark lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 46%.

The average photographic flashbulb export price stood at $X per unit in 2021, waning by -4.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price saw a noticeable curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 an increase of 9.6% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Sweden ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Belarus ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

In 2021, overseas purchases of photographic flashbulbs and flashcubes increased by 234% to X units, rising for the third year in a row after two years of decline. Over the period under review, imports showed a significant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 262% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2021 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, photographic flashbulb imports soared to $X in 2021. In general, imports posted buoyant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 with an increase of 147%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2017 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
In 2021, Italy (X units) constituted the largest photographic flashbulb supplier to the Netherlands, accounting for a 57% share of total imports. Moreover, photographic flashbulb imports from Italy exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, China (X units), twofold. The third position in this ranking was held by Belgium (X units), with an 8.4% share.
