Motor Vehicle Radiator Market Size in the Netherlands

In 2022, the Dutch motor vehicle radiator market decreased by -3.1% to $X, falling for the fourth consecutive year after two years of growth. Overall, consumption, however, recorded mild growth. Over the period under review, the market attained the maximum level at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, consumption failed to regain momentum.

In 2022, shipments abroad of radiators for motor vehicles increased by 9.3% to X units, rising for the fourth year in a row after six years of decline. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a slight decrease. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 33% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, motor vehicle radiator exports declined modestly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw a abrupt decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 26%. The exports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports by Country

Germany (X units), Poland (X units) and the UK (X units) were the main destinations of motor vehicle radiator exports from the Netherlands, together comprising 48% of total exports. France, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Brazil, Austria and Russia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 38%.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Brazil (with a CAGR of +107.0%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Germany ($X), Belgium ($X) and the UK ($X) constituted the largest markets for motor vehicle radiator exported from the Netherlands worldwide, together accounting for 47% of total exports. Poland, France, Spain, Italy, Brazil, Austria and Russia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 36%.

Among the main countries of destination, Brazil, with a CAGR of +74.5%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.

Export Prices by Country

In 2022, the average motor vehicle radiator export price amounted to $X per unit, with a decrease of -11.2% against the previous year. Overall, the export price showed a pronounced contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 19%. The export price peaked at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Poland ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Russia (+6.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

Imports into the Netherlands

In 2022, overseas purchases of radiators for motor vehicles increased by 4% to X units, rising for the second year in a row after two years of decline. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 29%. Imports peaked at X units in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, motor vehicle radiator imports rose modestly to $X in 2022. Overall, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 36%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

China (X units), Poland (X units) and the Czech Republic (X units) were the main suppliers of motor vehicle radiator imports to the Netherlands, with a combined 56% share of total imports. India, Germany, Sweden, Hungary, France, Indonesia, the UK and Spain lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 34%.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Hungary (with a CAGR of +64.7%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, China ($X), Poland ($X) and Germany ($X) constituted the largest motor vehicle radiator suppliers to the Netherlands, together comprising 52% of total imports. The Czech Republic, India, France, Sweden, Hungary, Indonesia, Spain and the UK lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 33%.

In 2022, the average motor vehicle radiator import price amounted to $X per unit, flattening at the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 10% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2014 to 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per unit), while the price for Hungary ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
