Over the period under review, exports, however, enjoyed a strong expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 202%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X tons, and then reduced sharply in the following year.
In value terms, non-reinforced rubber tubing exports dropped remarkably to $X in 2021. Overall, exports, however, posted buoyant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 128% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X, and then fell notably in the following year.
Exports by Country
France (X tons), Germany (X tons) and the UK (X tons) were the main destinations of non-reinforced rubber tubing exports from the Netherlands, with a combined 50% share of total exports. The Czech Republic, Spain, Belgium, Poland, Italy, China and South Korea lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 31%.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by China (with a CAGR of +48.9%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into the Netherlands
In 2021, the amount of rubber tubing not reinforced imported into the Netherlands rose significantly to X tons, growing by 8.8% compared with 2020. Overall, total imports indicated a strong increase from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.3% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +27.6% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when imports increased by 25%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, non-reinforced rubber tubing imports surged to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a remarkable increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +8.7% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +45.7% against 2015 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of 39% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2021 and are likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.

Germany (X tons), Italy (X tons) and Belgium (X tons) were the main suppliers of non-reinforced rubber tubing imports to the Netherlands, with a combined 77% share of total imports. The UK, Turkey, Sweden, France, China, Japan and the United States lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 16%.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Sweden (with a CAGR of +35.8%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when the average import price increased by 25% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum in 2021 and is likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($X per ton), while the price for Italy ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
