Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, preserved sweet corn exports amounted to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports recorded a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when exports increased by 106% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.
Exports by Country
France (X tons), Germany (X tons) and Belgium (X tons) were the main destinations of preserved sweet corn exports from the Netherlands, together comprising 49% of total exports. Norway, Poland, Romania, Hungary, Italy, Greece, Ireland, Slovakia, Spain and Switzerland lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 37%.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Slovakia (with a CAGR of +161.7%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest markets for preserved sweet corn exported from the Netherlands were France ($X), Germany ($X) and Belgium ($X), with a combined 49% share of total exports. Poland, Norway, Romania, Hungary, Italy, Slovakia, Greece, Spain, Ireland and Switzerland lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 37%.

The average preserved sweet corn export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, declining by -3.2% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when the average export price increased by 16% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2021, and then reduced modestly in the following year.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the highest price was recorded for prices to France ($X per ton) and Poland ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Ireland ($X per ton) and Belgium ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Poland (+4.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into the Netherlands
In 2022, supplies from abroad of sweet corn prepared or preserved increased by 49% to X tons, rising for the second year in a row after two years of decline. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a strong expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 82% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
In value terms, preserved sweet corn imports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. In general, imports saw a buoyant increase. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
France (X tons), China (X tons) and Belgium (X tons) were the main suppliers of preserved sweet corn imports to the Netherlands, with a combined 64% share of total imports. Hungary, Germany, Thailand and Italy lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 34%.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Hungary (with a CAGR of +90.5%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest preserved sweet corn suppliers to the Netherlands were France ($X), China ($X) and Belgium ($X), together comprising 67% of total imports. Germany, Hungary, Thailand and Italy lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 31%.

In 2022, the average preserved sweet corn import price amounted to $X per ton, surging by 10% against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated a slight increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.6% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, preserved sweet corn import price increased by +72.1% against 2017 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 18% against the previous year. The import price peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per ton), while the price for Italy ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
