Germany (X tons) was the main destination for synthetic rubber (excluding latex) exports from the Netherlands, accounting for a 15% share of total exports. Moreover, synthetic rubber (excluding latex) exports to Germany exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, France (X tons), threefold. Italy (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 3% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value to Germany stood at +3.8%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: France (+6.4% per year) and Italy (+1.2% per year).

In 2021, the average synthetic rubber (excluding latex) export price amounted to $X per ton, picking up by 17% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a perceptible reduction. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Austria ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+6.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into the Netherlands
In 2021, overseas purchases of synthetic rubber (excluding latex) were finally on the rise to reach X tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year declining trend. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.8% over the period from 2012 to 2021; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being observed in certain years. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 15% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, synthetic rubber (excluding latex) imports surged to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a mild contraction. Imports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
France (X tons), Belgium (X tons) and Japan (X tons) were the main suppliers of synthetic rubber (excluding latex) imports to the Netherlands, with a combined 43% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Germany, the UK, Taiwan (Chinese), the United States, South Korea, China, the Czech Republic, Italy and Brazil, which together accounted for a further 48%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Taiwan (Chinese) (with a CAGR of +22.9%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Belgium ($X), the United States ($X) and Japan ($X) constituted the largest synthetic rubber (excluding latex) suppliers to the Netherlands, with a combined 43% share of total imports. These countries were followed by France, Germany, the UK, Taiwan (Chinese), China, South Korea, Italy, Brazil and the Czech Republic, which together accounted for a further 49%.
In terms of the main suppliers, Taiwan (Chinese), with a CAGR of +17.2%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The average synthetic rubber (excluding latex) import price stood at $X per ton in 2021, increasing by 27% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a perceptible decline. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($X per ton), while the price for France ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
