The average mandarin and clementine export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, declining by -9.2% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.6%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the average export price increased by 17% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $X per ton in 2021, and then dropped in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Lithuania ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Poland (+3.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into the Netherlands
After two years of growth, supplies from abroad of tangerines, mandarins, clementines, satsumas decreased by -14.7% to X tons in 2022. Overall, imports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 24%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2021, and then reduced in the following year.
In value terms, mandarin and clementine imports fell rapidly to $X in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +1.1% from 2012 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when imports increased by 37% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2021, and then dropped sharply in the following year.
Imports by Country
In 2022, South Africa (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of mandarin and clementine to the Netherlands, with a 38% share of total imports. Moreover, mandarin and clementine imports from South Africa exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Morocco (X tons), twofold. The third position in this ranking was held by Spain (X tons), with a 17% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from South Africa stood at +15.3%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Morocco (+9.6% per year) and Spain (-9.4% per year).

The second position in the ranking was taken by Spain ($X), with a 17% share of total imports. It was followed by Morocco, with a 15% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from South Africa amounted to +15.4%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Spain (-8.1% per year) and Morocco (+9.7% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The average mandarin and clementine import price stood at $X per ton in 2022, dropping by -8.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when the average import price increased by 12% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2021, and then dropped in the following year.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the highest price was recorded for prices from Germany ($X per ton) and Israel ($X per ton), while the price for Morocco ($X per ton) and Peru ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.
