Belgium (X tons) was the main destination for unsaturated acyclic hydrocarbons exports from the Netherlands, with a 39% share of total exports. Moreover, unsaturated acyclic hydrocarbons exports to Belgium exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Spain (X tons), twofold. Imports into the Netherlands
In 2021, purchases abroad of unsaturated acyclic hydrocarbons increased by 4.6% to X tons, rising for the second consecutive year after two years of decline. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.9% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 36% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2018 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, unsaturated acyclic hydrocarbons imports surged to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a modest expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +1.3% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +44.0% against 2019 indices. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

Belgium (X tons), the United States (X tons) and Germany (X tons) were the main suppliers of unsaturated acyclic hydrocarbons imports to the Netherlands, together accounting for 91% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for the United States (with a CAGR of +58.5%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.
In value terms, Belgium ($X), the United States ($X) and Germany ($X) were the largest unsaturated acyclic hydrocarbons suppliers to the Netherlands, together comprising 91% of total imports.

Overall, the import price, however, showed a pronounced curtailment. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when the average import price increased by 21%. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the highest price was recorded for prices from Saudi Arabia ($X per ton) and Germany ($X per ton), while the price for Qatar ($X per ton) and the United States ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+2.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
