From 2019 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, animal fats imports soared to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports showed a measured expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of 152% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2021, Peru (X tons) constituted the largest animal fats supplier to New Zealand, with a 75% share of total imports.
