From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume to Fiji amounted to +14.7%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Australia (-0.4% per year) and Cook Islands (+15.6% per year).

The average plaster article export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, surging by 24% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, saw a abrupt decrease. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Papua New Guinea ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to New Caledonia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Papua New Guinea (-3.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

In 2021, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in supplies from abroad of articles of plaster or of compositions based on plaster, when their volume increased by 51% to X tons. Over the period under review, imports saw a buoyant increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 70% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2021 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, plaster article imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. In general, total imports indicated a strong expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +7.5% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period.
