The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 491%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2020 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Thailand (X tons), India (X tons) and Australia (X tons) were the main destinations of artificial and colloidal graphite exports from New Zealand, together comprising 100% of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Thailand (with a CAGR of +368.6%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Thailand ($X), India ($X) and Australia ($X) constituted the largest markets for artificial and colloidal graphite exported from New Zealand worldwide, together comprising 92% of total exports.

As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2020 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, artificial and colloidal graphite imports expanded to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when imports increased by 38% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2020 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2021, Norway (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of artificial and colloidal graphite to New Zealand, with a 81% share of total imports. Moreover, artificial and colloidal graphite imports from Norway exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the UK (X tons), ninefold. China (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 6.4% share.
