In value terms, exports of carnallite, sylvite and other crude natural potassium salts, potassium magnesium sulphate and mixtures of potassic fertilisers soared to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a perceptible descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of 172%. Over the period under review, the exports of reached the maximum at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

New Caledonia (X tons) was the main destination for exports of carnallite, sylvite and other crude natural potassium salts, potassium magnesium sulphate and mixtures of potassic fertilisers from New Zealand, accounting for a 76% share of total exports. Moreover, exports of carnallite, sylvite and other crude natural potassium salts, potassium magnesium sulphate and mixtures of potassic fertilisers to New Caledonia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, South Africa (X tons), fourfold.
