The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 82%. The exports peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Fiji (X units), Australia (X units) and Tonga (X units) were the main destinations of non-self-propelled fork-lift truck exports from New Zealand, with a combined 93% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Fiji (with a CAGR of +47.7%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, non-self-propelled fork-lift truck imports into New Zealand reduced dramatically to X units, dropping by -17.2% compared with the previous year. In general, imports, however, enjoyed a prominent increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 80% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X units, and then contracted sharply in the following year.
In value terms, non-self-propelled fork-lift truck imports dropped sharply to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a buoyant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by 67%. Imports peaked at $X in 2021, and then shrank sharply in the following year.
Imports by Country
In 2022, China (X units) constituted the largest supplier of non-self-propelled fork-lift truck to New Zealand, with a 74% share of total imports. Moreover, non-self-propelled fork-lift truck imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Japan (X units), fourfold.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from China totaled +6.3%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Japan (+14.3% per year) and Sweden (+11.6% per year).
