From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, butter and dairy spreads imports declined significantly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports showed a deep reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 151%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2022, Malaysia (X tons) constituted the largest butter and dairy spreads supplier to Nigeria, with a 30% share of total imports. Moreover, butter and dairy spreads imports from Malaysia exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Indonesia (X tons), twofold. France (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with an 11% share.
