The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 14,410%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, pimenta pepper exports soared to $X in 2022. In general, exports continue to indicate a significant increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 1,255%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the near future.

The UK (X tons), Italy (X tons) and Spain (X tons) were the main destinations of pimenta pepper exports from Nigeria, with a combined 41% share of total exports. South Korea, India, Germany and Kuwait lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 20%.

Over the period under review, imports saw a significant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 736% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the near future.

The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 761% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
