In value terms, crude glycerol imports dropped remarkably to $X in 2021. Overall, imports saw a abrupt contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 136% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2021, Indonesia (X tons) constituted the largest crude glycerol supplier to Nigeria, accounting for a 76% share of total imports. Moreover, crude glycerol imports from Indonesia exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Malaysia (X tons), sixfold. Thailand (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 9% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value from Indonesia amounted to +6.7%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Malaysia (-12.6% per year) and Thailand (-28.1% per year).
