Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a deep slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of 120% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, rubber-to-metal and moulded article imports surged to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, recorded a abrupt contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 143% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2021, New Zealand (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of rubber-to-metal and moulded article to Nigeria, with a 31% share of total imports. Moreover, rubber-to-metal and moulded article imports from New Zealand exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Antigua and Barbuda (X tons), twofold. China (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 9.6% share.

In terms of the main suppliers, Ireland, with a CAGR of +86.9%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average rubber-to-metal and moulded article import price stood at $X per ton in 2021, waning by -6.5% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, saw a notable expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when the average import price increased by 89%. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $X per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
