In 2022, imports of mushrooms and truffles into Nigeria shrank remarkably to X tons, dropping by -82.2% on the previous year. In general, imports, however, enjoyed a resilient increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 1,307% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, mushroom and truffle imports contracted sharply to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a strong expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 730% against the previous year. In 2022, South Africa (X tons) constituted the largest mushroom and truffle supplier to Nigeria, with a 46% share of total imports. China (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 9.6% share.
