Over the period under review, imports showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 243%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons, and then plummeted in the following year.

In value terms, non-cellular polypropylene film imports dropped sharply to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, recorded a pronounced increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 180% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X, and then contracted significantly in the following year.

In 2021, India (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of non-cellular polypropylene film to Nigeria, with a 43% share of total imports. Moreover, non-cellular polypropylene film imports from India exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, China (X tons), threefold. Germany (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with an 11% share.

As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2020 to 2021, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($X per ton), while the price for Togo ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
