As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons, and then reduced sharply in the following year.

In value terms, polyurethanes imports contracted dramatically to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded buoyant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 82%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X, and then shrank markedly in the following year.

Italy (X tons), Singapore (X tons) and India (X tons) were the main suppliers of polyurethanes imports to Nigeria, with a combined 32% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Greece, China, Spain, the United Arab Emirates and Morocco, which together accounted for a further 26%.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Greece (with a CAGR of +27.6%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
