The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 475%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

In value terms, semi-chemical wood pulp imports surged to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports showed a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 389% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

In 2022, the United States (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of semi-chemical wood pulp to Nigeria, accounting for a 88% share of total imports. Moreover, semi-chemical wood pulp imports from the United States exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, China (X tons), more than tenfold.

In 2022, the average semi-chemical wood pulp import price amounted to $X per ton, growing by 49% against the previous year. In general, the import price showed prominent growth.
