The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 623%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2022, the United Arab Emirates (X litres) constituted the largest supplier of sugary soft drink to Nigeria, accounting for a 51% share of total imports. Moreover, sugary soft drink imports from the United Arab Emirates exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Poland (X litres), twofold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Germany (X litres), with a 17% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from the United Arab Emirates totaled +16.5%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Poland (+42.9% per year) and Germany (+20.9% per year).

The United States, with a CAGR of +30.4%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a drastic downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when the average import price increased by 57% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per litre.
