Benin (X units) was the main destination for television receiver exports from Nigeria, accounting for a 33% share of total exports. Moreover, television receiver exports to Benin exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Cameroon (X units), twofold. The third position in this ranking was taken by South Africa (X units), with a 12% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume to Benin totaled +16.5%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Cameroon (+73.3% per year) and South Africa (+5.2% per year).
In value terms, the largest markets for television receiver exported from Nigeria were Cameroon ($X), Benin ($X) and the United States ($X), with a combined 69% share of total exports.
Cameroon, with a CAGR of +84.1%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average television receiver export price stood at $X per unit in 2022, surging by 3.7% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a abrupt setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when the average export price increased by 63%. Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Cameroon ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to South Africa ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

Imports into Nigeria
In 2022, supplies from abroad of television receivers decreased by -7.7% to X units, falling for the third consecutive year after two years of growth. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a slight increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 186%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, television receiver imports amounted to $X in 2022. Overall, imports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by 124%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
In 2022, China (X units) constituted the largest supplier of television receiver to Nigeria, accounting for a 81% share of total imports. Moreover, television receiver imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, South Korea (X units), more than tenfold. Hong Kong SAR (X units) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 3.9% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from China totaled +8.9%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: South Korea (-8.2% per year) and Hong Kong SAR (+7.4% per year).
In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of television receivers to Nigeria, comprising 73% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Indonesia ($X), with an 11% share of total imports. It was followed by South Korea, with a 9.5% share.
