Exports in Northern America
In 2022, overseas shipments of tea decreased by -0.1% to X tons, falling for the fifth year in a row after four years of growth. Overall, exports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. While the share of the United States (+3 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2022, the share of Canada (-3 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.
In value terms, the United States ($X) remains the largest tea supplier in Northern America, comprising 75% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Canada ($X), with a 25% share of total exports.

The export price in Northern America stood at $X per ton in 2022, rising by 4.3% against the previous year. Overall, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. Imports in Northern America
After five years of decline, overseas purchases of tea increased by 3.5% to X tons in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a slight decline. The United States dominates imports structure, resulting at X tons, which was approx. 95% of total imports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Canada (X tons), generating a 4.6% share of total imports.
The United States experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of imports of tea. Canada (-11.0%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of the United States increased by +8.4 percentage points.
In value terms, the United States ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported tea in Northern America, comprising 93% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Canada ($X), with a 6.7% share of total imports.
