Exports in Northern America
In 2021, shipments abroad of track suits, ski suits and swimwear increased by 43% to X units for the first time since 2017, thus ending a three-year declining trend. Overall, exports, however, recorded a mild setback. The volume of export peaked at X units in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, sportswear exports surged to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw a mild decrease. The level of export peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

The United States was the main exporter of track suits, ski suits and swimwear in Northern America, with the volume of exports reaching X units, which was near 90% of total exports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Canada (X units), comprising a 10% share of total exports.
The United States experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of exports of track suits, ski suits and swimwear. Canada (-4.0%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of the United States (+3.1 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2021, the share of Canada (-3.1 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.
In value terms, the United States ($X) remains the largest sportswear supplier in Northern America, comprising 84% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Canada ($X), with a 16% share of total exports.
In the United States, sportswear exports declined by an average annual rate of -2.1% over the period from 2012-2021.
Export Prices by Country
The export price in Northern America stood at $X per unit in 2021, therefore, remained relatively stable against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 an increase of 17% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2017 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

In 2021, overseas purchases of track suits, ski suits and swimwear were finally on the rise to reach X units for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year declining trend. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.8% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of 34%. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, sportswear imports soared to $X in 2021. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +1.1% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The level of import peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

The United States dominates imports structure, recording X units, which was near 94% of total imports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Canada (X units), creating a 5.7% share of total imports.
The United States was also the fastest-growing in terms of the track suits, ski suits and swimwear imports, with a CAGR of +2.0% from 2012 to 2021. Canada (-1.7%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period.
