Iceland (X kg) was the main destination for bismuth exports from Norway, accounting for a 75% share of total exports. Moreover, bismuth exports to Iceland exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Germany (X kg), threefold.

The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Iceland totaled $X per ton.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+8.9%).

Imports into Norway
For the third consecutive year, Norway recorded growth in supplies from abroad of bismuth, which increased by 155% to X tons in 2021. Over the period under review, imports recorded a significant increase. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, bismuth imports surged to $X in 2021. In general, total imports indicated noticeable growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.8% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +117.8% against 2019 indices. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
In 2021, China (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of bismuth to Norway, with a 71% share of total imports. Moreover, bismuth imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Hong Kong SAR (X tons), threefold.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from China amounted to +129.8%.
In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of bismuth to Norway, comprising 71% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Hong Kong SAR ($X), with a 19% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value from China amounted to +103.0%.
Import Prices by Country
The average bismuth import price stood at $X per ton in 2021, waning by -37.2% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price showed a deep setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 an increase of 25% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was China ($X per ton), while the price for Hong Kong SAR stood at $X per ton.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belgium (+1.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
