Bottled Water Market Size in Norway
In 2022, the Norwegian bottled water market increased by 791% to $X for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. In general, consumption, however, saw a perceptible setback. Bottled water consumption peaked at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, consumption remained at a lower figure.

The United States (X tons), Sweden (X tons) and the UK (X tons) were the main destinations of bottled water exports from Norway, with a combined 56% share of total exports. These countries were followed by China, Germany, the United Arab Emirates, Singapore, Australia, Kuwait, France, Thailand, Qatar and the Netherlands, which together accounted for a further 33%.

In value terms, the United States ($X) remains the key foreign market for bottled waters exports from Norway, comprising 28% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by the UK ($X), with a 13% share of total exports. It was followed by the United Arab Emirates, with a 9.7% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value to the United States totaled -9.4%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the UK (+9.6% per year) and the United Arab Emirates (+22.3% per year).

The average bottled water export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, reducing by -19.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a noticeable setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 54%. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Sweden ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Kuwait (+8.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, after three years of decline, there was significant growth in purchases abroad of bottled waters, when their volume increased by 153% to X tons. In general, imports showed a pronounced expansion. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In 2022, Sweden (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of bottled water to Norway, with a 33% share of total imports. Moreover, bottled water imports from Sweden exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Denmark (X tons), threefold. The third position in this ranking was held by Italy (X tons), with a 3.7% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Sweden amounted to -4.8%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Denmark (+14.7% per year) and Italy (-1.9% per year).
In value terms, the largest bottled water suppliers to Norway were Denmark ($X), Sweden ($X) and Italy ($X), together comprising 45% of total imports. Belgium lagged somewhat behind, accounting for a further 6.4%.
Belgium, with a CAGR of +30.0%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.

Based on 2022 figures, bottled water import price increased by +21.6% against 2018 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the average import price increased by 17% against the previous year. The import price peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($X per ton), while the price for Sweden ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
