In 2021, Madagascar (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of cow peas to Norway, with a 68% share of total imports. Moreover, cow peas imports from Madagascar exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Turkey (X tons), eightfold. The third position in this ranking was held by Italy (X tons), with a 5.9% share.

From 2013 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from Madagascar amounted to +38.6%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Turkey (+4.6% per year) and Italy (+57.1% per year).

The average cow peas import price stood at $X per ton in 2021, growing by 16% against the previous year. Over the last eight years, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.3%. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was China ($X per ton), while the price for Uzbekistan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2013 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Madagascar (+5.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
