Capacitor Market Size in Norway

The Norwegian capacitor market was estimated at $X in 2021, rising by 4.7% against the previous year. This figure reflects the total revenues of producers and importers (excluding logistics costs, retail marketing costs, and retailers' margins, which will be included in the final consumer price). Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, capacitor exports contracted to $X in 2021. In general, exports saw pronounced growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 115%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X, and then shrank in the following year.

Estonia (X tons), Lithuania (X tons) and Sweden (X tons) were the main destinations of capacitor exports from Norway, with a combined 58% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Canada, India, Denmark, China, the United States, Germany, the UK, Brazil, Saudi Arabia and Finland, which together accounted for a further 30%.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for India (with a CAGR of +217.7%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Sweden ($X), Lithuania ($X) and Estonia ($X) appeared to be the largest markets for capacitor exported from Norway worldwide, together comprising 40% of total exports. In 2021, the average capacitor export price amounted to $X per ton, dropping by -36.9% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, showed a strong increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when the average export price increased by 68%. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2020, and then dropped remarkably in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Sweden ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Estonia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Sweden (+9.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the amount of electrical capacitors imported into Norway dropped to X tons, falling by -8.6% compared with the previous year's figure. Overall, imports continue to indicate a abrupt decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 129% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, capacitor imports soared to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when imports increased by 43%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2021, Germany (X tons) constituted the largest capacitor supplier to Norway, with a 26% share of total imports. Moreover, capacitor imports from Germany exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Japan (X tons), twofold. China (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with an 8.8% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from Germany stood at +4.6%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Japan (+2.8% per year) and China (-8.5% per year).

In value terms, Japan ($X), China ($X) and Germany ($X) constituted the largest capacitor suppliers to Norway, together comprising 43% of total imports. The United States, Mexico, France, Malaysia, the Czech Republic, India, Sweden, Italy, Spain and Bulgaria lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 33%.

Bulgaria, with a CAGR of +23.1%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the average capacitor import price amounted to $X per ton, surging by 41% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price recorded prominent growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 109%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Mexico ($X per ton), while the price for Sweden ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+19.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
