In value terms, baby food exports soared to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a abrupt decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when exports increased by 256%. The exports peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

The UK (X tons) was the main destination for baby food exports from Norway, with a 53% share of total exports. Moreover, baby food exports to the UK exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, China (X tons), twofold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Sweden (X tons), with an 8.9% share.

In value terms, the largest markets for baby food exported from Norway were China ($X), the UK ($X) and Hong Kong SAR ($X), with a combined 85% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Sweden, the Netherlands, Vietnam and Denmark, which together accounted for a further 15%.
The Netherlands, with a CAGR of +92.6%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average baby food export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, with a decrease of -34.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, posted a notable expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 an increase of 181%. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $X per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Denmark ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to the UK ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Denmark (+15.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, supplies from abroad of food preparations for infants increased by 1% to X tons, rising for the second year in a row after three years of decline. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a mild contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by 2.1%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, baby food imports rose remarkably to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 6.2%. Imports peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
Portugal (X tons), Sweden (X tons) and France (X tons) were the main suppliers of baby food imports to Norway, together comprising 69% of total imports. These countries were followed by Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Spain, which together accounted for a further 28%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Spain (with a CAGR of +136.4%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest baby food suppliers to Norway were Portugal ($X), Germany ($X) and Sweden ($X), together accounting for 62% of total imports. These countries were followed by France, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Spain, which together accounted for a further 33%.
