In 2021, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in supplies from abroad of furniture of plastic, when their volume decreased by -5.8% to X units. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.9% from 2012 to 2021; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 17%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. From 2016 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, plastic furniture imports expanded notably to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 21%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
Israel (X units), China (X units) and Poland (X units) were the main suppliers of plastic furniture imports to Norway, with a combined 68% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Italy, the Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark, Turkey, the UK, Germany and Vietnam, which together accounted for a further 26%.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Turkey (with a CAGR of +15.0%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Israel ($X), China ($X) and Poland ($X) constituted the largest plastic furniture suppliers to Norway, with a combined 51% share of total imports. Italy, the UK, Sweden, the Netherlands, Denmark, Germany, Turkey and Vietnam lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 38%.
Turkey, with a CAGR of +10.4%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
