In general, total imports indicated a strong expansion from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.6% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +75.6% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when imports increased by 62% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X units in 2021, and then contracted in the following year.
In value terms, meat-preparation industrial machinery imports expanded notably to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a slight increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by 68% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
Germany (X units), France (X units) and Italy (X units) were the main suppliers of meat-preparation industrial machinery imports to Norway, together comprising 56% of total imports. Spain, Denmark, Hong Kong SAR, Poland, Sweden and the Netherlands lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 35%.
