Over the period under review, imports posted a pronounced increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when imports increased by 137%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. From 2016 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, industrial robot imports contracted modestly to $X in 2021. In general, imports enjoyed a buoyant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when imports increased by 167%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2016 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

Sweden (X units), Denmark (X units) and Germany (X units) were the main suppliers of industrial robot imports to Norway, together accounting for 56% of total imports. These countries were followed by China, the Netherlands, Austria, Italy, the UK, Japan and the United States, which together accounted for a further 36%.
