Spain (X units), Canada (X units) and Sweden (X units) were the main destinations of industrial robot exports from Norway, together accounting for 59% of total exports.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when the average export price increased by 250% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $X per unit in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Chile ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to the Czech Republic ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Turkey (+619.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, overseas purchases of industrial robots for multiple uses increased by 20% to X units, rising for the second consecutive year after two years of decline. Over the period under review, imports posted a pronounced increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when imports increased by 137%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. From 2016 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, industrial robot imports contracted modestly to $X in 2021. In general, imports enjoyed a buoyant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when imports increased by 167%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2016 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
Sweden (X units), Denmark (X units) and Germany (X units) were the main suppliers of industrial robot imports to Norway, together accounting for 56% of total imports. These countries were followed by China, the Netherlands, Austria, Italy, the UK, Japan and the United States, which together accounted for a further 36%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for China (with a CAGR of +64.5%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Sweden ($X), Denmark ($X) and Italy ($X) constituted the largest industrial robot suppliers to Norway, together accounting for 52% of total imports. In 2021, the average industrial robot import price amounted to $X per unit, dropping by -18% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, saw a noticeable increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when the average import price increased by 76%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2020 to 2021, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($X per unit), while the price for China ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
