Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 13% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, leek imports shrank markedly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 28%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
In 2022, the Netherlands (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of leek to Norway, accounting for a 52% share of total imports. Moreover, leek imports from the Netherlands exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Morocco (X tons), threefold. Spain (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with an 11% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from the Netherlands totaled +1.1%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Morocco (+39.1% per year) and Spain (-3.4% per year).
In value terms, Morocco ($X), the Netherlands ($X) and Spain ($X) appeared to be the largest leek suppliers to Norway, together accounting for 70% of total imports.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Spain ($X per ton), while the price for Belgium ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+3.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
