Plant-Growth Regulators Market Size in Norway

In 2022, the Norwegian plant-growth regulators market increased by 24% to $X, rising for the third consecutive year after five years of decline. Over the period under review, the total consumption indicated a pronounced expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, consumption increased by +65.4% against 2019 indices. In value terms, plant-growth regulators exports declined remarkably to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, saw significant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 with an increase of 1,139% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2021, and then reduced dramatically in the following year.

Exports by Country

Chile (X tons), Greece (X tons) and Spain (X tons) were the main destinations of plant-growth regulators exports from Norway, together accounting for 70% of total exports. Lithuania, Turkey, Finland, Iceland and the UK lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 27%.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Lithuania (with a CAGR of +420.5%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Chile ($X), Greece ($X) and Spain ($X) constituted the largest markets for plant-growth regulators exported from Norway worldwide, together comprising 65% of total exports. Lithuania, Turkey, Finland, Iceland and the UK lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 28%.

Lithuania, with a CAGR of +477.6%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average plant-growth regulators export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, increasing by 4.5% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a abrupt slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 49% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2014 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Finland ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Imports into Norway

In 2022, supplies from abroad of plant-growth regulators increased by 6.1% to X tons, rising for the third consecutive year after two years of decline. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a temperate expansion from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.6% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +62.3% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 with an increase of 45% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, plant-growth regulators imports soared to $X in 2022. In general, total imports indicated pronounced growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.7% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +88.6% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 65% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

Sweden (X tons), Belgium (X tons) and Poland (X tons) were the main suppliers of plant-growth regulators imports to Norway, with a combined 61% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Poland (with a CAGR of +54.4%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest plant-growth regulators suppliers to Norway were France ($X), Belgium ($X) and Denmark ($X), with a combined 57% share of total imports. The average plant-growth regulators import price stood at $X per ton in 2022, increasing by 8.9% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when the average import price increased by 32% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Denmark ($X per ton), while the price for Sweden ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Ireland (+54.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
