In 2021, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas purchases of pumps for dispensing liquids, when their volume decreased by -32.7% to X units. In general, total imports indicated a resilient expansion from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.8% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 43%. Imports peaked at X units in 2020, and then shrank significantly in the following year.
In value terms, liquid dispensing pump imports shrank remarkably to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 59% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at $X in 2020, and then declined notably in the following year.
Imports by Country
Germany (X units), China (X units) and Italy (X units) were the main suppliers of liquid dispensing pump imports to Norway, with a combined 56% share of total imports. These countries were followed by the UK, Denmark, Sweden, Malaysia, the United States and the Netherlands, which together accounted for a further 33%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Malaysia (with a CAGR of +91.1%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
